The Story of The Mystery of the Mathematical Treasure

Exactly 100 years ago, in an old library perched on a mountain peak, an eccentric yet brilliant mathematician named Professor Numeronius made an astonishing discovery: a secret formula that could transform mathematics into a power of the mind capable of unlocking the gates to any mystery in the world.

To protect this precious knowledge, Professor Numeronius hid it inside a magical treasure: The Treasure of Logical Thinking – a golden chest containing the brightest mathematical ideas: games, codes, thinking tools, and secrets of rapid calculation.

But the professor knew that only the brave, the curious, and the sharp-minded should be able to find it. On a clear night, he wrote a letter to children from different corners of the world...

Dear Curious Reader,

I am Professor Numeronius, seeker of truths hidden in the mystery of numbers and endless enigmas.

I am writing this letter in the hope that you will open your heart to the call of mathematics – that secret language which unlocks the gates to understanding the world.

A hundred years ago, in a forgotten corner of the world,

I made a discovery that would forever change the way our minds perceive the universe: a mysterious formula, a key that transforms simple mathematics into a power of the mind, capable of solving the deepest mysteries. To keep this gift safe,

I hid it inside a magical box, which I named The Treasure of Logical Thinking. Inside are fascinating games, secret codes, thinking tools, and the secrets of rapid calculation – all designed to awaken the genius within each of us.

I invite you to embark on a journey of knowledge, to discover this treasure yourself, and to become a master of the mind, ready to face any enigma.

With admiration for your curious spirit,

                                                                             Professor Numeronius

He thus designed missions with mathematical challenges, hidden in mysterious places. For one hundred years, the treasure remained forgotten… until today, when the brave detectives of mathematics have decided to set out on a quest to find it and unravel the mystery.

For youger students, we prepared a video that presented the story in an engaging and simple way, helping them better understand the adventure in The Math Treasure Mystery.

eTwinning project The Mystery of the Mathematical Treasure

Many children perceive mathematics as difficult or lacking in appeal. This project aims to change that perception through an exciting international adventure in which pupils aged 7 to 11 will explore mathematics in a playful and mysterious way. Based on the story of Professor Numeronius – an adventurous mathematician who hid a treasure of Logical Thinking – students will solve challenges, puzzles, and math riddles to discover the treasure. The project promotes learning through play, international collaboration, logical thinking development, and digital skills in an engaging and motivating way.

🕵️ The Equipment of Mathematical Detectives:

To become real Mathematical Detectives, every student will need a pair of detective sunglasses!

🔴 Important:

Photos and videos will be included in the project only if students are wearing their detective sunglasses.

The sunglasses help us protect children’s identities and, at the same time, make the activities more fun and introduce students to the detective atmosphere.

🕵️The Code of Mathematical Detectives:

🕵️ Be a good Mathematical Detective!

🕵️ Respect your classmates’ ideas and solutions.

Every detective has their own strategies, and every contribution is valuable.

🕵️ Collaborate with other mathematical detectives.

Share clues, discuss solutions, and help your teammates solve the mysteries.

🕵️ Solve the mysteries using your own ideas.

Do not copy other detectives’ answers. Think and find the mathematical solutions yourself.

🕵️ Enjoy the adventure!

Be curious, pay attention to every clue, and remember that each solved mystery brings you one step closer to the Mathematical Treasure!
