✨The Mystery of the Mathematical Treasure✨
eTwinning Project for Developing Mathematical and Digital Competences in Primary Education

"The project demonstrated how storytelling, play, and technology can transform mathematics into an interactive and memorable experience. Students developed mathematical, logical, and digital skills, as well as collaboration and international communication competencies, preparing them for the challenges of future education." Borș Elisabeta Edit -project founder

Summary:

The eTwinning project The Mystery of the Mathematical Treasure proposes an educational pathway structured into five thematic missions, aimed at strengthening basic mathematical skills and developing logical thinking. The activities are carried out collaboratively and make use of digital resources created by the participating teachers, encouraging international cooperation and the integration of curricular content into an engaging and coherent framework for primary school students.

Context and Purpose:

The aim of the project was to support the understanding of fundamental mathematical concepts through practical, collaborative, and digital activities.

General Objectives:
  • Developing mathematical and digital competences

  • Stimulating logical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Strengthening social competences and international collaboration

 PROJECT PLANNING:

Project planning represented the initial and essential stage in building a coherent and well-structured educational experience. Through a collaborative approach, partners from the three countries – Romania, Turkey, and Poland – established common working directions, organized the activities, clearly distributed responsibilities, and identified the resources needed for project implementation.

During this stage, the school curricula of the partner countries were analyzed and compared in order to identify common elements and the logical sequence of mathematical content in textbooks. The common content identified became the foundation for structuring the project into a progressive pathway, reflected in the five project missions, organized in a coherent and gradual manner.

Based on this analysis, the missions were designed according to learning stages, respecting the natural development of students’ mathematical competences and the gradual increase in task difficulty.

Thus, the final structure of the project was established, consisting of five thematic missions:

🔑 Mission 1: Discover the Beginning of the Adventure!
🔑 Mission 2: The Magic Operations – Addition and Subtraction!
🔑 Mission 3: The Magic Operations – Multiplication and Division!
🔑 Mission 4: Detective in the World of Shapes – Tangram
🔑 Mission 5: The Treasure of Problems and Logical Thinking – The Final Challenge!

Project Structure:
